Softball........Go! Today was Olivia's first softball game, not the first of the year but first of her life.  Oh wait, also the first of the year.  I got to see my daughter play in her first game ever and it was really cool.  I loved seeing the smile on her face and I love seeing all her firsts today.

My Favorite Chair - Picture of the Day - April 29th

So I had a lot of time to wander aimlessly around the house today, still being sick really stinks.  My wife pointed out one of the chairs in our living room.  She said she knew our daughter put her name but never saw the heart.  Of course I had to take a look.  This is what I found on the most comfortable leather seat in the entire world.  It doesn't come off but I'm glad because I love it, I'll still love it in 20 years or 50 years.  I don't think I can ever get rid of this chair now.

Sickie McSickson - Picture of the Day - April28th

For a better part of yesterday I felt off, I really thought I was just tired but last night I started feeling sick.  If you know me then you know I hate being sick.  So last night and this morning I felt miserable.  I called in sick to work which is fine because I didn't have much to do today and I'm gonna try to sleep this thing away....far away.  The crazy thing is I haven't eaten anything since Tuesday so I know when this passes I'm gonna be crazy hungry.  I'm pretty sure it's a Flu bug, that's what it feels like and my temperature has decided to stay right around 102 since yesterday evening.  Nothing super serious but enough to make me feel bad.  So my picture today is my temperature. Why? Because its all I have right now and I might be asleep for the better part of today so picture opportunities will probably be scarce.  So adios, I'm going to sleep and hopefully I have something better for you tomorrow.

I brought my Ipod to work today because I knew I'd be in my office a lot today.  I wanted to get busy work done which doesn't require much thinking so I figured music would help move the day along.  I didn't really have a good picture to post but I thought it would be cool to post the first ten songs that came up on my Ipod. So I hit shuffle and this is what came up. Turned out to be very 90's Brit Pop-ish which is a very good thing.

Spring...Again - Picture of the Day - April 26th

Ok, lets try this again.  It's Spring! Ok, I just looked out the window and there is definitely no snow.  So it's still cold out and been raining enough for me to wonder if I need to start building an ark but that's just Spring in Chicago.  It feels like Spring, it smells like Spring, I'm pretty sure it's finally Spring.  So todays picture is just a picture I took of my tree the other day.  I thought it kinda looked pretty but it goes along with the Spring theme so enjoy.

I want to introduce you to the smallest but most evil gingerbread man on the face of the planet.  I'm pretty sure he has already moved plans forward to kill all small woodland animals in the Midwest.  Next the county, then the world!

Most aren't lucky enough to remember him but those that do only remember the red eyes and the hurting.

Happy Easter! - Picture of the Day - April 24th

Happy Easter! Ahhhhh Easter, when all good boys and girls grab their machete's and await the coming of zombie Jesus. Yes, truly a magical time of year.

So the Easter bunny did come and my kids are thrilled.  We have candy for at least a week and a couple new toys, can't get better than that.  Went to Church early and fought for a parking spot which I ended up creating a spot anyway.  The kids were great and when we got home they ate more candy than I would have allowed in a month but that's ok, its Easter. So here's a couple pictures of the kids and their loot. Happy Easter!

Sidewalk Chalk - Pictures of the Day - April 23rd

Today was a great day. It was finally warm out after a week of rain, snow and cold.  I spent a better part of the afternoon out with my girls.  They rode their scooters, played in the front yard and busted out the sidewalk chalk.  Here's some pictures of the sidewalk chalk fun.

Oswald - Picture of the Day - April 20th

A few days ago I posted a picture of Stinky Pinky, my oldest son's best friend.  A friend posted a comment and that got me thinking. Why haven't I introduced you to Oswald, my youngest daughter's best friend.  Just to be clear my daughter is 4 and my son is 2 1/2.  Why is this important? Its not but at least you know who reigns supreme between Oswald and Stinky Pinky.  Oswald is the elder, Oswald is wise.  We all aspire to be in Oswald's good graces.

Oswald and my daughter have such pure love for each other.  Its a joy to watch them together.  I know Oswald is going to be a part of my family until I die.  If my daughter doesn't take him with her where ever life leads her then I want him.  That doll is a part of her and I never want that gone. So whats Oswald? Oswald is a stuffed blue octopus that my brother got for her.  She's had it most of her life and has loved it as much as a kid can love a stuffed blue octopus.  Oswald shows his wear.  He's faded, matted and his stuffing is less than fluffy.  His smile is a now a half smile, thanks to A's mom for the operation that salvaged a half smile.  On his best day he still looks filthy.  He is everything he should be.  He is worn because he is loved.  So here is Oswald in all his glory.

Clean Hands - Picture of the Day - April 19th

About a year ago my office decided to put in hand sanitizers around the office.  I think its because at the time the jail had a bad case of staff infection or something going around and they wanted us to be careful not to spread anything.  So the mantra was "Wash your hands!"  We work on a daily basis with people in custody.  They put all of them in common areas except one.  One special hand sanitizer unit went in my supervisors office. See for yourself.

Why did Jason get his very own? Well, its because he is........special.  He very much so does not like when people use his hand sanitizer thingy.  In fact, he hates it.  So Jason, guess what.  Now you can look back at this blog whenever you want and see your very own hand sanitizer unit cheating on you....with me! Ha! Take that!
