Last game of the season

That's it, soccer's over. Another fun season coaching 4-6 year old soccer. I'm happy it's over but I'm sad it's over. I love seeing the kid's smiling faces but I'm happy to have some free nights again. But no worries, it won't be long before another season starts.

Soccerfest

Soccer fest was Saturday. Soccer fest is the last game of the year. They bring in inflatable bouncy things, pizza and the kids get trophies. Usually it's a lot of fun for the kids but this year it rained. After it rained, it rained harder. Once that was done it got really cold and rained a bit more. So soccer fest was a cold wet mess. Despite that, the kids had fun.

Amelie and Everett's game was first. They played a bit before we called the game because of a downpour. The kids had a blast though, they loved playing in the rain.

Next was Olivia's game. While it rained, it wasn't as bad as the first game. The kids ran around being goofy and playing soccer. They really had a good time.

Olivia getting her trophy with her coach.
The second half was kids against parents. We parents put up a good fight but the kids eventually took us down. I was able to put a good shot on goal but Olivia made a great save and denied me my glory.

Amelie earned her medal

Amelie had a great soccer game tonight and earned the MVP medal. She was so proud of herself and told anybody who would listen about her accomplishment. Way to go Amelie!

He's got the moves....the soccer moves.

Everett had his best game of the year tonight. He really got into it and did a good job. I usually don't take pictures while coaching but I had to tonight. Congrats to you little man. Amelie also had a fantastic game. She had two break aways and an assist. Good job Face of Ambo!

And the games begin.

Practice is over and games started tonight for Bobcats Soccer. Olivia is on the Red Stars. She had a pretty good game. I'm proud of her. Tomorrow is Amelie's and Everett's first game of the year. It's gonna be exciting, get tickets while you can!

Soccer Fest 2011

Today was soccer fest which meant the last game of the year for both Olivia and Amelie. Today was also the last day I coached Amelie's team, for this year at least. It was a great day for the girls. Both got to play soccer, then get pizza and finally trophies!

I was happy to give out trophies to my team. Nine smiling kids having fun, that's what it's all about. I know I did my job and had so much fun doing it. I hope to coach again next year. I cannot convey how much  fun this year was for me. I know many parents consider coaching young kids a chore but I highly recommend it. Just remember, be patient and have fun. If you do they will too. So here are some pictures from today. Enjoy!

First game is Amelie. Amelie is in there....somewhere.

Post game pizza and then trophies!

A picture with Coach.....I mean Dad.

Next we ran over to the other field to catch Olivia in action.

After the game it was Olivia's trophy time.

They are so freaking cute!

She's so cute

Yes I did go to the They Might Be Giants concert last night. Yes I do have some pictures for you from that show but that will wait for tomorrow. Today I got up early and watched Olivia play soccer. Have I seen this before? Yep. Tons of times? Yep. It never gets old, I love it.

So which one is she? She's the little bit in the yellow jersey with the pigtails.

Bobcats on parade

Today was the Bobcats soccer parade, well there was more than just soccer but we as a soccer association walked in the parade. I put the boys in the wagon, got some candy to throw and went out with the girls parading like there was no tomorrow. The kiddos had fun and that's all I can ever hope for.

Waiting for the parade to start.

Ok, time to start. She's got the candy, who to throw it to???

Ekk! Not them, not them! Creepy!

Ok, better.
