First Hawks game of the year

Despite Denny's best attempt at making me miss it, I went to my first Blackhawks game of the year. A preseason match up with the Penguins. Yes I mean Denny's the restaurant. Why did I go there? The girls wanted to go after soccer Thursday night so I took them. Oh, I paid the price in the wee hours of Friday morning. So anyway, I survived and made it to the Hawks game Friday night.

I usually don't go to preseason games, I just don't care. Until the games mean something it's kinda pointless. But, tonight was different. Tonight I took my girls to the game. Preseason or regular season, they don't care. They want to go get hot dogs, popcorn and ice cream. It's fun for me seeing them have a blast so it was a good night.

Who is Jason Wisconsin? Why did this search lead someone to my blog? Clearly the universe wants me to tell you about the Legend of Jason Wisconsin.


Jason Wisconsin is a rugged but simple man who wants nothing more than to enjoy a nice smoked Gouda. But that is not possible for Jason Wisconsin. Jason Wisconsin hates cheese. He didn't always hate cheese but years of jokes took their toll and now Jason Wisconsin can only dream of that smoked Gouda. 

Despite the fact he's a handsome man, life's not easy for Jason Wisconsin. Well, on odd months life not easy for Jason Wisconsin. On even months it's actually pretty good. 


Jason Wisconsin hates spiders but loves centipedes. Jason Wisconsin figures he can only be on one side of natures greatest rivalries.


Jason Wisconsin is an avid bear hunter.


Jason Wisconsin ALWAYS carries an acoustic guitar on his back but only plays one song, Darling Clementine.


I'm pretty sure today is Jason Wisconsin's birthday but I can't verify that.

Tougened Up!

I went to the Chicago Blackhawks website a couple minutes ago. I had to email some tickets I had sold. The main story on the site caught my attention. Something didn't look right. I quickly figured it out. The article was about how the hawks have added some grit this year. They will not be pushed around. I agree. They definitely have toughened up but I'm not sure if they have tougened up. 

 So it's possible that I'm missing something here. It's possible that that is exactly what they meant but I'm too dumb to know. It's possible that I've never heard of the word tougened and have mistaken it for toughened but I don't think so. Yes, yes, I know what you're saying. Phil, you misspell shit all the time and that would be correct. But, I'm not paid to write for the Blackhawks. I'm just silly old me sitting at my computer. So that's it, nothing more. I thought it was funny.

They Might Be Giants Fun!

I really had a good time at the TMBG concert even though this was the 10th time I've seen them live. They always put on a fantastic show. Here's a couple pictures from the TMBG show.

It rained a lot today, crazy train a lot. It was a ducky day.

Go Vikings!

So close but so so so so so far. Another week, another Vikings loss. The Vikings yet again played a great first half only to give the game up late. This week the Lions got the best of the Vikes. It's really getting old, maybe next week I'll just stop watching at halftime. No, I'll watch every minute of the disaster this season is turning into. Why do I do this to myself? Skol Vikings!

Yes I did go to the They Might Be Giants concert last night. Yes I do have some pictures for you from that show but that will wait for tomorrow. Today I got up early and watched Olivia play soccer. Have I seen this before? Yep. Tons of times? Yep. It never gets old, I love it.

The Origins of Nasty

So before the Erasure concert Jason, Karen and my lovely self went out to eat. At the restaurant there was a personality testing machine. Of course Nast, I mean Karen, wanted to have a go. What did the machine say? Well, it said Karen was Nasty. It didn't lie. So from now on Karen shall be known as Nasty, or Nast for short. So yeah, please do start to call her this as she will no longer be answering to Karen after January 1st. Nast thanks you for your consideration during this transition period.

Three Queens

So yesterday was the Erasure concert, yeah so much fun, but before the concert we got ice cream. In keeping with the theme of the night I got the Three Queens Sundae. Let me tell you, it was damn good....damn good. As you can see I did conquer the Three Queens. I had moments of doubt but I pulled through.

Bobcats on parade

Today was the Bobcats soccer parade, well there was more than just soccer but we as a soccer association walked in the parade. I put the boys in the wagon, got some candy to throw and went out with the girls parading like there was no tomorrow. The kiddos had fun and that's all I can ever hope for.
