It's Halloween time!

We put up our Halloween decorations up today. Nothing too spooky, I'm not sure Olivia could handle anything worse than this. I think it's pretty good and the kids are happy so I'd call it a success.

Goodbye Ponds

As any good Doctor Who fan knows, it's just a matter of time before you're saying goodbye to another companion. This time it was Amy & Rory. Were the Ponds my favorite companions? No, Rose still has that title for me. I did like them though and was sad to see them go. They were a part of some great stories and some of my favorite Doctor Who moments. But like every other companion's departure, you move on and get excited for what's to come. This time we only have to wait till Christmas. Usually the Doctor Who Christmas episode is a fun episode but this year it will be extra special. Having the Doctor's new companion properly introduced should be interesting. I'm really looking forward to it. So goodbye Amy & Rory, so sad......now let's meet this new Dalek companion.

Bananas!

I was just sitting here thinking about what I should post as my picture for today. I was kinda thinking a picture of Amelie but it didn't feel quite right. I wasn't really happy with anything I had. Then my brother texted me a picture and everything changed, I had my picture. 

So my brother texted me this picture and said "You may be the only person I know to appreciate this wifi name." So freaking true, bananasinpajamas is Bananas! In case you were wondering B1 was my favorite. So what is Bananas in Pajamas? It was a kids show in the early 90's. My little brother and sister watched it but it was like crack for me. I loved it.

Brownies

The patches are sewn on, the vest is ready. Tomorrow Olivia begins her Brownies adventure.

Halloween Town

I took the kids to see my parent's Halloween town a couple days ago. Of course the kids loved it, how could you not? It's freaking cool.

Everett's newer friends

It's always funny to see which stuffed animals kids like. For his whole life Everett's had a love affair with his best friend, stinky pinky. He still loves stinky more than anything in the universe but a couple new friends have risen up the stuffed animal ladder. His small Bulls animal and stuffed pizza are very popular right now. The Bulls doll I understand. My mom gave him the doll because he was studying the letter B in school. So of course he loves it. The pizza I don't get at all. Olivia got it for him at a Hawks game once and it's been in our house for a while. He's never looked twice at it, until recently. Now it's a must have at bedtime.

Vikings Win!

A big win for the Vikes today, at least it feels like a big win. The Vikings beat the 49ers 24-13. Do I think the Vikings are headed for the Superbowl? No, definitely not but they played a solid game against a good team. They didn't win by some fluke. They lined up and outplayed the 49ers today. The defense looked better. Ponder played a good game, not perfect but good. The O-line played really well. Peterson looked like Peterson. I saw a lot to be excited about. That's why it was a big game.

Dessert is always a good idea.

Hello friend

Rush

In 1992 I went to my first concert with my friend Trevor. We saw Rush on the Roll the Bones tour. I'm not a huge Rush fan but I went. Concerts are fun, right? I had a fun time and we had taco bell after so it was all good. I've been to tons of concerts since then. Some of my favorite ones were Suede, Pet Shop Boys, Lush and Erasure. I've seen They Might Be Giants more times than should be allowed and even got Flans to play I Palindrome I once. True story and I have a witness. But tonight after 20 years I saw Rush again. I'm still not a huge fan but 20 years later I appreciate them as musicians so much more. Damn, they are good.

It was a long day.
