Game 7

So this is it. Blackhawks. Redwings. Game 7. I woke up wanting to barf, I still do.

This game is the last gasp of a great rivalry. Next year the Wings will be in the Eastern Conference. It wont be the same. You'll still hear Detroit Sucks at the UC, for a couple years at least, but the hate between these teams will fade. It's inevitable.

Not tonight though. Tonight is all about the hate, the need to win. This series has reminded Hawks fans what a rivalry is. Vancouver? Give me a break, that's nothing. I've hated the Wings my whole life. Every ounce of my being hates the Wings, the Hawks need to win this. No way we can lose this to the Wings. Can't think about that. So I'm heading out to the UC now for one last tilt with the De-toilet Scum. I still wanna barf. LET GO HAWKS!

Bier Stube? Spatzle! Schnitzel!

What to do during Memorial Day weekend? Go to Bier Stube for German food, of course!

So the Bier Stube was a blast. It felt like walking into 1930's Germany and having a quick bite. The kids loved it. I loved it. Down to the nitty gritty. What did I eat?

I had the Schweizer Schnitzel which is Wiener Schnitzel smothered with mushrooms and Swiss cheese then baked. It came on a plate of brown gravy. I chose creamed spinach and Spatzle for sides. The food  was great. I ate so much I had to sleep for 37 years after lunch.

Dessert was a delicious apple strudel with raisins and walnuts.

The Bird and the BBQ

This morning I saw a bird in the yard clearly building a nest. I went outside to find the nest. I thought the kids would love to see it. Oh, I found the nest...in the BBQ! This is gonna be a pain to clean out. Uggh

Amelie the baker

Amelie went with her Daisy troop on a bread baking adventure. It was a pretty cool experience for her and she was really proud of her bread.
