Happy Birthday..... to me!

Today is my birthday and our anniversary. Yep, I got married on my birthday. We went to The Reel Club to celebrate. It's a pretty good restaurant and I love fish so it worked out quite nice.

We started out with Parmesan crusted scallops, so good but so much butter. We also had seared sesame ahi tuna.

For dinner I had broiled Chilean sean bass with shiitake mushrooms and broccoli rabe. Karen had crab legs with brussel sprouts, she loves those sprouts.

We shared dessert, mango creme brulee.

Now we know where Jason got his groove

Jason, my former supervisor and current fashion consultant, came back from Prague last week. It sounded like an exciting trip despite Jason NOT trying what would have been wonderful street food. I told him to have the street sausage.....ok, that sounded weird. Moving on!

Jason found Strelecky, the Czech version of his last name, Ostrov. So that is Strelecky Island. He found his Island! The place he was made AND found his groove. This is the Island that brought us the funky that is Jason. How freaking exciting is that? Well, very.

Jason did not explore the island as much as I would have hoped. I wish he would have walked every inch of that island taking pictures of everything. I fully believe there are answers on Strelecky Ostrov. I fully believe we could have learned about the origins of........White Puma!

1000% Superglue

Last night my little sister gave me my birthday present, my birthday is on Tuesday. She got me a bottle of Allagash Black. I'm pretty excited to try it, should be good.

But the real surprise was a can of 100% organic, free-range, cage free unicorn meat. It's definitely healthy. It has 100% daily value of magic, smiles, stars and a bunch of other good stuff. How often do you find one food that has 200% rainbows? How can this not be good for me?

Halloween Party!

Last night we went to the kids school for their Halloween Party. They ran around, ate pizza and ice cream and had fun. The boys got tired pretty quick and ended up in the car watching a movie eating Wendy's fries I got them to ensure quiet. A pretty good night.

THE EAGLES KILLED BECKY!

Last night I went to see Birdemic, the worst movie in the history of movies.....even future movies. Lucky for me the Rifftrax team made this miserable vomitous mass of a movie one of the funniest things I've seen in a long time. So if you know what SolPnls are, if you've beaten a hovering bird back with a hanger, if you've been hit with a toy car, if you like Nice Even Spacing Forever! or if you are just hanging out, hanging out, hanging out with your family then you had a fun night last night. Thanks Rifftrax, I needed a good laugh and I got it last night.

They Might Be Retweeting Me

So today John Flansburgh retweeted me. Yes, I know I should not be as excited as I am. I really don't care all that much about celebrities. I don't really follow any on twitter. But TMBG are my exception. Flans does talk a bit on twitter and it's usually entertaining. Every once in a while I'll say something back to a tweet. Today's not the first time he's responded but it's the first time I got a retweet. Again, I'm a dork and I know I shouldn't be excited but I am. So cool.

Amelie's school project

Amelie had to build a model for a school project. She was assigned our church. I made my wife take pictures of it, I needed some reminding of exactly what it looked like. I think we did a pretty good job.  A church is not an easy thing to make a model of. Olivia had the same project a couple years ago and she had to do TGIF. That was pretty easy. So model is done and I'm happy. Good Sunday.

Soccerfest

Soccer fest was Saturday. Soccer fest is the last game of the year. They bring in inflatable bouncy things, pizza and the kids get trophies. Usually it's a lot of fun for the kids but this year it rained. After it rained, it rained harder. Once that was done it got really cold and rained a bit more. So soccer fest was a cold wet mess. Despite that, the kids had fun.

Amelie and Everett's game was first. They played a bit before we called the game because of a downpour. The kids had a blast though, they loved playing in the rain.

Next was Olivia's game. While it rained, it wasn't as bad as the first game. The kids ran around being goofy and playing soccer. They really had a good time.

Olivia getting her trophy with her coach.
The second half was kids against parents. We parents put up a good fight but the kids eventually took us down. I was able to put a good shot on goal but Olivia made a great save and denied me my glory.
