Mixer time! Lets get crazy!
You know what Olivia did tonight? She went to her first mixer! Ok, ok, not so much a mixer. More a fun dance at her cousins school. She and her cousin went out for a night of dancing, eating snacks and getting crazy! Still, I like saying mixer so it was her first mixer. Oh the party life of 1st graders and 2nd graders.

Star Gazing
I introduced my kids to something I absolutely love. The Universe. I'm always excited getting out the telescope and seeing what I can find. I can do it for hours losing myself in the stars. I don't do it enough but hopefully that will change after tonight.
Tonight I got to see my kids experience the universe through a telescope for the first time. We looked at Jupiter first. We saw the famous red storms. We counted at least five moons. We then looked at the moon. Then we looked closer and then closer. I heard my daughter whisper to herself "Oh my god, wow" as she explored the craters of the moon up close. I was so happy. I saw in her the excitement I have every time I look through the telescope. I know she wants to do it again. I know I have a star gazing buddy from now on. That makes me so very happy.

I'm such a dork.
Ok, I'm a dork and way too excited about this. I went out and found my first cache today. Yup, I'm talking about Geo Caching. My brother told me about it and I thought it sounded pretty cool, pretty damn awesome cool. It's funny, not many people seem to match my enthusiasm for it though. Not that it will stop me from telling everybody about it. Inside this magnetic key holder was a log which I signed. Mr. Mothra04 found his first cache. Now, onto the next one!

Dear god what is that thing.
Karen and I were sitting on the couch talking. We had on the Sugar Bowl and this his picture came on the TV. All talking ceased and was replaced with uncontrollable laughter.
So it seems this is a fan at the game....or maybe it was God.....or the heat miser. I don't know anymore, I'm just confused.

Children's Museum...No, Aquarium....No, Field Museum!
I took my boys to the Field Museum while the girls had fun with friends at home. I picked up my parents and off we went....to the Chicago Children's Museum. I know, you're thinking "What you talking about Willis?" Well, we did start by going to the Children's Museum but the parking deck at Navy Pier was crazy. We figured it would be way too crowded and then I realized I had no gas, barely had fumes. We went off to find a gas station. My nifty navigation system lied to me. There was no gas station where it said there was one so I beat it. Oh, it told me where a gas station was the second time, it learned it's lesson. So gas was in the car and panic was gone. Then we were off to the aquarium! But the line there was crazy too. So we ended up going into the Field Museum which was fine because I love it. The boys had enough fun to make it worth it and they slept all the way home. Not to shabby for a day determined to make me go crazy.

The Vikes close out their season with a loss.
The season is over and wow, was it a bad one. The Vikings finished the season losing to the Bears and ending with a 3-13 record. But it's not all bad. There is some hope. Ponder looked like he could be our QB of the future, maybe. We should have the 3rd pick in the draft which will help, hopefully.
Despite the horrible year todays game was exciting. Jared Allen chased the single season sack record. He fell a half sack short but he did break the Vikings single season sack record. 22 sacks on the year is damn impressive. It kept the game more than watchable. I was stuck to the couch all afternoon.
The other highlight of this game was Jimmy Kleinsasser playing his last game in the NFL. I know he wasn't a super star but he was always one of my favorite players. It's sad to see him go but I'm happy he played his entire career as a Viking.
